Before or in between the class we dance to floor level that may include mainstream, Plus, and the occassional "A" tip.

Mainstream Class covers approximately 55
calls.
Plus class consists of approximately 30 calls.
Basic/Mainstream/Plus/New

Square Dancing does require learning calls, which are the building
blocks of other calls. It is recommended class members not miss 2 weeks
in a row, or more than 4 weeks total as that makes it difficult to learn
as well as teach.
No Partner is required (though couples are welcome)
No "Traditional" attire required. We dance in street clothes.
Alcohol Free environment
Variety of music - You may hear a country tune, but you may also hear Queen, Abba, Neal Diamond, or Techno, anything from the 50's thru today. The only thing the songs have in comon is you can square dance to them.
There are lots of opportunities for dancing. Once you have learned to successfully dance official caller lab programs, you can dance with other clubs in the Bay Area, across the US and Canada, and many countries in the world. There are local dances, state dances, national and international dances-from traditional to modern to gay and lesbian based clubs that incorporate "flurishes". See our Links page to find more info on other clubs and associations. Attending other clubs dances and events are what makes square dancing fun and exciting.
*Please check our calendar page if you are interested in attending an intro night. All are welcome, but we occasionally do have a change to our dance schedule.
